Rich shea butter, beeswax and coconut oil combine to form an ultra-healing paw balm to get the pep back in your doggie’s step!
A dog’s paws can often be overlooked when it comes to grooming, which is a shame because the pads are the most worn area of the body! Prone to scrapes and dryness as well as the effects of hot pavements and icy sidewalks, it’s nearly impossible to shield your dog from harsh conditions. So what’s a fur parent to do? This three-ingredient protective emollient balm will do the trick!
This recipe uses pet-friendly ingredients in the event that your pup can’t resist licking their paws. The natural healing properties of shea butter, coconut oil and beeswax can help calm paws that are prone to inflammation. These rich ingredients deliver moisture directly and instantly to dry areas and help heal, reducing redness and irritation.

Start by melting beeswax, shea butter and coconut oil in a double boiler. Beeswax pellets are recommended as they melt quicker than the larger chunks of wax. Stir to completely combine. Pour into a small jar and put aside in a dry, cool spot to set. You can also place the jar in a refrigerator to set more quickly.
Apply the paw balm at night so it has a chance to absorb into the affected areas. You can also put a thin coat on the paws before walks to help prevent damage. Your doggo’s healthy paws will thank you!
