Hydrogen peroxide can safely clean surfaces without the harsh side effects associated with bleach and ammonia – typically found in conventional cleaners. (2) Its effervescent quality makes it terrific for cleaning mildew off window sills, shower doors, and tough spots like the grouting between tiles. Use it to prevent future mildew spores and let its bubbly foaming action rid it from your home once and for all.

Essential citrus oils leave behind a refreshing scent that not only smells great but can also help prevent the spread of certain bacteria. (3) You can stick to one citrus oil or try combining a few like lemon and orange to suit your preferences.

To make this cleaning spray, combine 3% hydrogen peroxide with water and 10-20 drops of essential oil in a spray bottle. Spray directly onto the mildew and allow it to sit for 10 minutes. Use a scrubbing brush to clean and remove the mildew. Rinse when finished and store the spray in a dark, dry spot to preserve it for later use.

Ingredients

• 1/2 cup water
• 1 cup 3% hydrogen peroxide
• 10-20 drops citrus essential oil

Instructions

• How to Make: Combine the peroxide, water, and essential oil in a spray bottle and mix.
• How to Use: Spray directly onto the areas with mildew or mold and let it sit for 10 minutes before scrubbing.
• Rinse and repeat where needed.
• When finished, store in a dark dry spot for later use.
