This homemade chocolate with coconut oil is filled with all the good stuff (raisins, almonds, and cashews), then sweetened with a touch of maple syrup.
All you need to make this decadent chocolate is coconut oil, unsweetened cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and a bit of maple syrup. Since I like my chocolate to have a bit of contrast in taste and texture, I also add chopped raisins, almonds, and cashews.
Start by melting the coconut oil in a small saucepan. Once the coconut oil is melted, mix in the cocoa powder, maple syrup, and vanilla (until you get a smooth, homogeneous mixture).

Pour the chocolate mixture into the cavities of a clean, silicon chocolate mold. Drop a few raisins and chopped nuts into each cavity. Now all that’s left to do is wait for the chocolate to chill in the refrigerator until it’s firm. Then it’s ready to eat!
It’s so easy to whip up your own batch of chocolate—without any of the preservatives and additives that the store-bought ones contain. Plus, this recipe can be easily tailored to your tastebuds. Feel free to add your favorite fruits and nuts to the mix (such as dried cranberries, walnuts, or pecans).
