Coconut oil pulls triple duty in these bombs; moistening the mixture, setting the mixture, and adding dewy moisture to the skin. Unlike other recipes, this version uses coconut oil instead of water to avoid activating the fizzy properties prematurely. While water can help moisten some bath bombs, it can easily set off the cream of tartar before touching the bathwater. Avoid the hassle and stick to coconut oil for a foolproof recipe each time.
To get started, combine the dry ingredients in a mixing bowl. Slowly pour in coconut oil as you stir with your free hand. Mix until the ingredients are nice and damp. Spoon the mixture into four molds and press firmly to pack down. Tip: For best results, use large silicone ice cube molds for easy removal. Then, place the tray in a cool dry spot for six to eight hours, or until hardened.
When ready, reap the soothing benefits by running a hot bath. Drop one bath bomb into the tub and soak for 20 minutes to experience ultimate relaxation.
