Baked instead of fried, these spicy calamari rings make for a deliciously light snack.
Calamari is often coated in wheat flour and fried, making for a heavy, greasy dish. This recipe covers calamari rings in heart-healthy almond flour and bakes in the oven for a healthy, Paleo-friendly appetizer!
To coat the calamari, they’re first dipped in an egg wash, then immediately covered in a spicy almond flour coating mixed with oregano and cayenne for a spicy Italian kick. Pro tip: Use a fork or spoon to coat the calamari with the almond flour mixture. This prevents the mixture from clumping together from the egg wash. Coat them liberally for a thick, crispy outer texture straight out of the oven!
